It’s another installment of My Week in Pictures! Here’s what I found on my phone from this week…ENJOY! 🙂
So the big news around here are these winter storms that are bringing us a TON of snow! Here are a few pictures that I took in the last couple of days. Not sure if they are a good protrayal of exactly how much snow we have (and it’s STILL snowing!), but it’s a LOT. I am not a snow person. I think big fat snow flakes are gorgeous, but I do not want to touch them. I would rather enjoy their beauty through a glass window. 🙂
So, then of course with severe weather comes EMPTY shelves at every grocery store in the tri-county area. Here is what I found in the Kroger bread and milk aisles. I’m sure many of you faced a similar experience. Hopefully you were able to at least get buns! Oh, and while I was there I was recognized by a reader (will never get used to that), Melanie. So shout out to Melanie!! She and her son were very cool. 🙂
And when it’s -5 degrees you will find me in bed with blankets at 4 pm. #guilty. With computer of course. 😉
What I buy at Walmart.
Yesterday we got a heat wave (32 degrees!), so Kambell and I took ourselves shopping! There I am enjoying my Starbucks and Gymboree. Gymboree has the CUTEST line of kitty clothes right now. In fact, I can count on them for an adorable kitty line about twice a year. I am not even going to tell you how much I spent, but I CAN say that these clothes are so cute that I did not have a choice in matter. It will be a sad, sad day when Kambell grows out of Gymboree.
So who else has one of these gas tank door thingies that you have to like literally pound on to get it to open? It is too cold for this junk. I feel like the Fonz standing there banging on my car!
We ended our day with my baby reading ME a bedtime story for a change. 🙂
One last thing. If you like this song…we cannot be friends. And you’re out of the family.
Well, those were this week’s tidbits!! How was your week? Let us know in the comments below.
Melanie

Have you seen this?!? Every time I hear that song on the radio now, this is all I can think of. It makes me laugh out loud every.single.time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj-x9ygQEGA
Carmen Foster
Hey Katie, I’m another fan of your week in pictures! 🙂 I didn’t end up making it to Kroger until Saturday last week, so it was getting bare in there. I always make sure to scan the organic milk section for deals. Over the weekend I found So Delicious dairy free coconut milk Nog quarts on sale for $1.99 and my .55 coupons doubled= .89¢ea. Also wanted to brag a little about finding Gevalia coffee on the clearance rack (Royal Spice Christmas blend). Originally priced at $6.99, clearance at $3.49. I had $1.50/1 coupons– $1.99ea! 🙂
Katie
Wow Carmen! You scored!! Thanks for sharing!! 🙂
Charmagne Kidwell
I love your pics and everything you do. You amaze me AND save my family a ton of money. I follow your website, follow you on Facebook and follow you on Twitter. Okay, now I sound like a stalker! Lol. Seriously though, I truly appreciate what you do for all of us. 🙂
Katie

Katie
HAHA!! No Zack! You’re out of the family!! 😀

I hate that song too!! I always want to clear my throat when I hear it because her voice is so raspy and unpleasant.
Katie
LOL – thank you SK!!! 😀
Debra Pauley

Katie
I am in Northwest Ohio Debra. 🙂
Soo
I LOVE La Victoria salsa. Still have not been able to find it anywhere around here. Of course my husband mysteriously found a bottle of it but couldn’t remember where he bought it. How is that possible?! Men.. Pshhh
Katie
HAHA Soo!! Doesn’t he know this is IMPORTANT!!!
Korey Robison
Soo…I once forgot that I forgot things…and then I remembered. Have Mr. Soo try that. (Or move near my family here in Toledo…we live a few miles from the La Victoria store).
Jennifer
I wondered about the organic milk section. That’s what we buy and there was a good stock of that. We’ll just keep that our little secret.
Katie
Right Jennifer?? Too bad it was FULL PRICE.
Korey Robison
Turn around, bright eyes….every now and then (blah blah blah). I used to hate that song. I still hate it, but I used to too. My Kroger’s shelves were empty as well, all except for the Bonnie Tyler CDs…there was even a “Take One Get One” hang tag on them.
Katie
LOL Korey! Thanks…now I have that song in my head all night! GAHHH!!
Jonda
Kroger was selling out here in Marion oh too.
It was packed in there!
Katie
I believe it Jonda!!
julie
Not sure I want to know why we cant be friends if l like that song…, but I have to ask WHY??
Katie
LOL, Julie. I just really cannot stand that song. I was just trying to funny. I really won’t hold it against you if you love it. 🙂
julie
Not a Fan just thought it was funny, sometimes theres a funny story behind it. Thought there might be a juicy story 🙂
Katie
LOL, no. I just CRINGE everytime that song comes on and cannot turn the dial fast enough. 🙂
julie
Last comment. I have 5 kids, Gymboree was my favorite for them and sometimes I almost cry walking by because my baby is 12 almost 13. I saved a couple of outfits for each one. You know, home from the hospital, special picture or event and my oldest just turned 20 and I still can’t part with them. Even though I miss Gymboree I am not wishing for grandkids yet if you were wondering 🙂
Miriam
I’m fairly new to your website, but I’m loving your weekly pictures! Geez, that’s a lot of snow! More than we ever ever see in Georgia (where I live)! Oh, and those are a lot of tortillas, lol. Finally, last time my Wal-Mart had those hot sauces on clearance for $0.50; I was so happy 🙂
Katie
Miriam…oooohhh so jealous. I LOVE that taco sauce. And it NEVER goes on sale here. (thanks for commenting) 🙂
