I wanted to sit down today and lay out a few transaction scenarios for those of you who are having trouble figuring out exactly how to do this General Mills Catalina deal at Kroger this week. I have already outlined the specifics on this deal in THIS POST, so if you’re just joining us and have no idea what I’m talking about…please read through that in it’s entirety before going any further.
My deal scenarios below are based on a limit of 2 “like” printable coupons and 5 “like” insert coupons. If your store allows more or less than that, then you might want to tweak it to fit your store’s policy.
I also understand that doubling policies vary as well as pricing on these items. In order to make this as SIMPLE as possible, I am going to base this on MY store policies (double up to $0.50) and prices. The master list has price ranges, additional coupons and a 2nd final cost if your store is a high doubler.

Angela
How long is the General Mills Catalina going on for?
Angie
What Jessica & I don’t understand is the Cocoa Puffs on the “No Doublers List”
She doesn’t say to buy Cocoa Puffs, but says to use a Cocoa Puffs Coupon…
Unless I’m not seeing something correctly. 😐
Karissa
i had my first successful couponing trip doing the GM thanks to you and all the wonderful people on here teaching me! Original total was $71 and i paid $10! i was very proud lol. Thanks guys! this is an amazing way to save with a baby on the way!
Jessica, the $1/2 is for some different GM cereals but only the cocoa puffs out of those listed are on sale this week so to get the most bang for your buck and get the cats you have to get cocoa puffs if thats what you were asking! :]
Jessica
I don’t understand the coco puffs part?
Marcia
My Kroger only allows 3 IP’s per day, but I appreciate all that you do.
Joni
Allie, there may be more benefits to using the ecoupons cuz in some states like Kansas you still pay sales tax on the free items (you pay tax on the sale price before coupons). But with e coupons, the way it rings up, it *looks* like it’s a sale price and so you can get around paying the sales tax.
Joni
Tim, please tell me you bought the cereal boxes that you got the coupons off of. Cuz if you didn’t, shame on you.
Jaynie
Allie, I don’t print coupons anymore, so your post really helped me out. Thank you.
Allie
Even with just ecoupons these still come out to a decent deal. Averages about 42.5 cents an item. ( According to my sale prices, and that the ecoupons do not double, unfortunately.)
The ecoupons i found and loaded to my card are
.50/1 chex mix; 2.00 ea =2
.75/2 BC frosting, cake mix, etc, (2) 1.50 each =3
;.50/1 chex cereal 2.50 ea =2.5
.50/2 GM fruit snacks (2) 2.00ea. =4
.50/1 green giant chips 2.00 ea; =2
.50/2 suddenly salads (2) 1.50 each =3
and .50/1 Progresso recipe starter[if included? i think it is] 1.50 ea =1.5
$18.00 Original Price
minus ecoupons
-3.75 total = 14.25
This makes ten items, so 2x the $5 catalina back = 14.25 OOP, and $10 for next purchase. $4.25 for all ten items essentially! Without printing any coupons! Please let me know if someone else did this deal, I hope I didn’t type this for no one to benefit from it. Happy couponing!
Tim
I was at Wal-Mart and found $2 off 2 general mills coupons on the cereal boxes. Scored some great deals with this!
Crystal
For the Suddenly Salad, you can only use 1 IP since it is .50/2 and your scenario says 2 of the q’s! Thank you so much for this match up. I have a Dillons that has no coupon/transaction limits and has unlimited doubles (.01-.50 = doubles and .51-.99 = $1)!
Sherri
But my Columbus Kroger allows one Catalina per transaction instead of allowing me to use more than 1 so I’m stuck with it. 🙁 Thanks for all you do!! 🙂
colleen
You are amazing! I just want to thank you so much for your extra hard work! You have saved me thousands of dollars this year.
Tat
Wonderful scenarios BTW. It is unfortunate that I can’t use them because my Kroger limits IPs to three!!!!! Gggggrrrrrrrrrrrr
Kim
Love it!
Andrea
Very sad that my Kroger will not let me use my Catalina’s during same shopping visit (next order). I am stuck doing 4 transactions per trip or per store. Urg!
Joni
So awesomely laid out, no one should have any questions right?!?!
But here’s mine, you can use more than one of the $5 OYNO coupons in one transaction? I’ve been doing these deals all week, but separating the transactions cuz I thought I could only use on o$5 OYNO coupon per transaction!! Aaa! I am going to try using more than one and see what happens.
Katarina
Joni, the fine print on the Catalina actually states: “There is no limit to total reward coupons issued during the promotion time period and actual coupon redemptions on future shopping orders are unlimited.” 🙂
Rose
You are awesome. Thanks for making it easy for me to plan my upcoming shopping trip 🙂
Angela
You are so awesome 🙂 Thanks so doing this!!
