You may have noticed this item in this year’s Thanksgiving Dinner Kroger Deals roundup, but I wanted to give a special shout out to this product that is worth adding to this week’s grocery list….Slawsa.
First of all, this is a 100% woman-owned small business, which I totally respect. Secondly, the flavor is outstanding! You’d never expect that much flavor to come from that jar. I was hesitant at first but, after you try it, you may reconsider buying pickle relishes ever again…it’s that good. In fact, I read that Slawsa is one of Hungry Girl’s favorite condiments too.
What is it? Slawsa is sort of a cabbage-based relish with subtle heat undertones. You can find Slawsa Original & Spicy in the RELISH section of ALL Kroger, Dillon’s and Bakers stores. Fortunately, when Slawsa is not on sale, at $3.59, it’s still affordable (especially for more of a gourmet item). But, the good news is that Slawsa is on sale now at $3.29. We won’t ever see the deep discounts or coupons on small business products like this for many reasons, but its definitely worth the try and here’s why:
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Slawsa is fantastic on post-Thanksgiving Day turkey sandwiches.I also tried their deviled egg recipe and it adds a nice zip if you’re putting them out for the big meal. Here’s the recipe for the deviled eggs. My first thought though when I tried Slawsa is how delicious it would be on a hot dog. I am hot dog obessessed, so yes…I think of these things. 🙂- Slawsa is really healthy. It’s all natural, fat-free, cholesterol-free, gluten-free, low in sodium, vegan and kosher. Slawsa is most definitely one of the more healthy condiments on the market.
- This is exciting!! Slawsa just happens to be hosting their first annual recipe contest HERE. Deadline for submission is December 6th and they’re giving away free Slawsa to the top 3 selections including a FREE years supply of Slawsa to the grand prize winner. Now, that’s a deal!
Slawsa is definitely a must-have try for your grocery list. It’s not in the ad but venture to the relish section and you’ll find it on sale the next week or two. Stock up as you’ll find yourself eating it straight from the jar…it’s that good.
Oh, and how awesome is this?? You can check them out on their Shark Tank episode that will re-air on CNBC on Tuesday December 2nd at 9:00 pm ET/6:00 pm PT. Can’t wait for that!

I first heard of this product on the Big Show with John Boy and Billy radio broadcast one morning while I was driving to work. It sounded like a wonderful product. I am happy to see that my local Kroger is carrying it! I think that this is one product that is worth trying, even without a coupon.
