Ok, here’s another deal I scouted out last night! There’s a new Knorr Bouillon coupon available that prints with no size restriction so I of course was on the hunt for something cheap. I found these chicken bouillon cubes in the ethnic foods aisle for just $0.79. So, if your store doubles $0.50 coupons – they’ll be FREE!
$0.50/1 Knorr Bouillon Product
Knorr (Caldo con sabor de Pollo) Chicken Bouillon Cubes (8 ct) – $0.79 (Reg Price)
Use $0.50/1 Knorr Bouillon Product printable (doubles to $1.00)
Final cost is FREE!

Thanks for the tip on printing! I’ll be looking into that. I just hate to make the list and go then have it all fall apart at checkout because they wont scab. I live in between a Kroger in Ohio & Indiana. Ohio has a better coupon policy so I try to go there. This was the 1st time I’d had that problem and this cashier is usually very helpful. She did tell me it was a corporate policy that’s why I wondered about others having that issue. So far Meijer will punch them in if they don’t scan but our local marsh has started scanning once and if it doesn’t work they won’t accept it. Jenny ugh I feel your pain! That is always a hassle but glad it worked out at the other store for you 🙂

I have discovered that when I print my coupons as a “draft” (meaning the ink is alot lighter than normal) that they scan almost always the first time! The darker ink coupons I’ve printed (same coupon, just darker) have been the ones I consistently have trouble with at Kroger (and Meijer). Hope that helps.

Ashley, I sure have had problems at one of the Bay City Kroger’s. After spending an hour shopping I tried to check out and NONE of my printed coupons would scan!! To make a VERY long story short…if the cashier hit total after each coupon, most of them would scan, but by the time she figured that out she had already inter-mixed the coupons she scanned in with the ones that hadn’t been scanned yet..it was a big fiasco!! I am generally a very nice person, but I told the cashier and manager (very nicely) that since the problem seemed to be with the scanner and not with my coupons AND that my ending total was some $40 higher than it should have been, they could put all of my groceries back and that I wanted all of my coupons back. They weren’t happy, I wasn’t happy, it was a bad situation and imagine my disgust when I took those coupons to a different Kroger and they all scanned just fine!! Oh yeah, and we drove 45 minutes to get to that Bay City store, as we quite a bit north of there!! I had no help from Kroger customer service when I called to complain either. I only buy loss leader products from Kroger now, which is sad.

Luckily I haven’t had any problems at my Kroger (Northwest Ohio). They are really good. Sometimes it also depends on the cashier you get, some will use the hand scanner on them if they don’t go through the other way. Sorry to hear you have problems. And again……thanks Katie for doing all you do with and saving me a TON of money.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had problems using printed coupons at kroger? Our local kroger told my mom and me that they will try to scan a printed coupon once and if it does not scan they will not honor the coupon and they will not try to type it in. Just wondered if anyone else has had this happen?
