This is because some of them are on closeout AND part of the mega, so you may see a tag that says that the sale price is a percentage off, PLUS you get the $1 off mega savings when you buy 5 participating items. mine weren’t marked Mega but did ring up as mega. Threw my count off!
Don’t be fooled by the shelf tags. I am thinking the mega tags were removed and the cat tags were put up. I needed a spice and when I was going through check out I noticed the little tag next to the spice while I was checking out showing it was still included in the mega sale, so I just removed one of the other items I was using as a filler and I got the mega savings and the $1.50oyno. Caution though my Ibotta was for buy 3 mccormick spices to be able to get the rebate. Make sure you are checking the rebate before you assume the offer you received.
I tried this twice. Once Jan 1 and then again Jan 4. I didn’t get the cat either time :(. Maybe it’s not in the Phoenix area at Frys.
I bought 5 in Tucson and received five $1.50 catalinas and some of them were even marked clearance.

I was able to snag some spices when you posted earlier in the week – but when I went on Wednesday all the prices had gone up AND all the Mega Event tags were gone. Since I was worried about them being taken off the Mega Event list and since the prices went up so much – I didn’t bother with it. I’m also in the Delta Region. Thanks for the info about the Ibotta though! It hasn’t been a week since I bought my spices – so I’ll dig out my receipt and do my submission! 🙂
My store also did not have the Mega tags marked for any of the spices. It did seem like the prices had changed from the week before.
Well my Kroger(Delta Region) has managed to JACK the prices wayyy up on these spices. I bought some a couple of days ago and they were 1.69 and some were 3.00. NOW they mega sale prices miraculously changed to 4.00 and up to as much as 5.99!!! To top my frustration off, they had a huge display of mountain dew 12 packs and the sale sign said 1.79. At chkout, they rang up as 4.99. Me and cashier went and looked at display amd sure enough the price was 1.79…..however, the tiny print under the price said coca cola products.. THERE WERE NO COCA COLA products there! The display was only mountain dew and diet mountain dew. I politely asked if I would get them for the price listed in the display and she said no because the grocery crew put the wrong sign up! Whaaa?
