Eucalyptus essential oil is not recommended for use in children under the age of 10. The 1,8-cineole in the oil can stimulate receptors in the lungs and dangerously slow breathing is some children. Natural does not always mean safe. Some of the most dangerous poisons on the planet are in fact all natural.
The chest rub contains this essential oil.
The peppermint, wintergreen, and eucalyptus essential oils in the vapor rub are all not recommended for children for the same reason.
