Looks like another Kroger region, Louisiana (which is part of the Southwest region) has confirmed that they are no longer doubling coupons.
For those of you in the Southwest region (Texas has not doubled for over 2 years now) – this policy change will be taking effect starting October 31st. That means your paper coupons will only be accepted at FACE value.
Also, the Bryan/College Station area has also announced they will stop doubling as of November 1st. This area was the only one left in Texas that still doubled.
There are promises of lower pricing to help offset this new policy change.
The regions that no longer double coupons are as follows:
- Southwest
(except Bryan/College Station, TX area) - Delta
- Mid-Atlantic
- Central
- Cincinnati
- Atlanta
- Louisville (Mid-South)
- Dillons (affiliate store in KS, MO, AR, NE)
- Gerbes (affiliate store in KS, MO, AR, NE)
- Ralphs (affiliate store in CA)
- Fred Meyer (affiliate store in (AK, WA, ID, OR)
The regions that DO still double are as follows:
- Michigan
- Columbus/Great Lakes
- King Soopers (affiliate store in CO)
- Fry’s (affiliate in AZ)
Follow the instructions to Find your Kroger region. Your best bet is to call your local store and find out if you’ve been affected.

I was driving 75 miles to shop at Kroger because of double/triple coupons. It will be price matching from now on. Sorry kroger

Are you referring to the doubling of internet (self-printed) coupons?
My Kroger (38401) still doubles manufacturers coupons from circulars, product packaging, etc. 50¢ and under. I am pretty sure we are in the Mid-South region.

I am a Columbus region shopper and have been increasing my stock pile even more before we don’t get our coupons doubled too! Ugh!
Jenny
I now live in Houston where there is no doubling and the prices are somewhat lower, but literally only pennies lower on some items 🙁
marie
Well Columbus area still safe but for how long. Wonder if we will make it until the end of the year?

I’m thinking they’ll change it sometime in 2014. With Meijer switching, only Giant Eagle is left, and Kroger is more worried about WalMart then GE.

Since Walmart pricematches, if Kroger stops doubling, what’s the incentive to keep shopping there?
Happymama
Good point…I hope Kroger realizes that. However, I’m loyal to Kroger.
Melanie
My letter states starting October 31, 2013, my Kroger will no longer double and triple coupons.
Katie
Thanks for confirming that Melanie. 🙂
