Perhaps Obamacare has had an influence on the Kroger website!
TT, you have to keep in mind that managers have to go through training in order to be up to date on the new promotions. Required training is only offered so much. You cannot blame it on the manager for not being completely aware of everything that goes on, they are the ones who come up with ideas. If you ask the store manager rather than a department manager or even the franchise manager/owner, that’s where there could be a problem. However, with any item that you try to get free, you either have to take the extra effort to be there early or find another store or you have to be prepared not to get the freebie that week. It’s a promotion, not a guarantee that you’ll be there before everybody else.

They actually do have $3.49 off of Cool Whip which makes it free this week 😉
Mine states Buy one (1) COOL WHIP Frosting, get One (1) free (up to $3.49).
No big deal. Half the time they are out and have no idea when they will get more or the store don’t carry the product to start with. You would think that the managers would know what is being given away and have ample product to cover. Kroger needs to do a better job or stop these give aways all together.
I find that it varies a lot from store to store–I have one Kroger in my town that always has the free items in stock and they are featured prominently in the store, and I have another Kroger that never has the free items in stock. If you have more than one store in town (and it is convenient…), I would check at another store just to see if maybe they are more prepared.
MY favorite thing is when you ask a “MANAGER” about the freebie download and you get that deer caught in the headlights look. They look completely stunned as you stand there and explain to them how their companies digital coupon downloads work. It frustrates me to an extent but makes me laugh as I get that look from them like I am the one with 3 heads. I feel like this gives me an upper hand when a coupon doesn’t work because after all I just had to tell them their jobs. Its kind of a payback for the way they treat us couponers when we are trying to follow the rules and still get a good deal.
