My Kroger in central Arkansas will take coupons that are over the value of the item, Providing your basket amount doesnt go into the negative. I had a cashier try to only give me 1.50 coupon value when actually the coup was for $2. The manager came over and told cashier that she had to give me the full value of coupon because Kroger would get the $2. Therefore they would be robbing me of .50 if she adjusted my coupon! Lol
Our stores won’t let you use a coupon that is over the value of the otem. I asked about them adjusting the price but they said they don’t do that .
I have had prior success using coupons(manufacturer’s & Kroger digital) worth slightly more than the cost of an item during a mega sale(buy 5 get $5 off). If you inform the cashier ahead of time what you are doing you will only run into problems as some have absolutely no clue. Just make sure your grand total is projected to be at least one cent(sometimes sales tax will be enough) as you may be stopped by the cashier or self checkout attendant if the total is in the negative.
