Well, I finally made it to Walmart this month!! That may not seem like such an accomplishment to you, but with the demands of a 4 year old and this ever so insistent blog (my other baby)…that was quite the feat around here. When we get new coupons I always have good intentions of matching up all the sale items, but it rarely happens. Instead, life happens.
I do have a few things that I found at Walmart tonight that I wanted to share with you. In addition to the FREE at Walmart items, I also scored the following deals:
I was SO hoping to find a deal for the Hefty coupon we have because they are far and few between and trash bags are SO expensive! Well, Hefty now has a new recycled trash bag called Renew and it is sold in small boxes of 20 count bags, which makes for a very good deal:
Hefty Renew Trash Bags (20 ct) – $2.88
Use $1.00/1 Hefty Trash Bags
Final cost is $1.88 (just $0.09 per bag!)
(thanks for the heads up on this, Passion for Savings!)

When I saw this coupon for Hartz Pet Toys show up on Coupons.com, I had a hunch that we were going to get a great deal! Tonight I found Hartz Cat and Dog toys priced at $2 or less!!
Hartz Dog Toy – $1.96
Use $1.00/1 Hartz Pet Toy
Final cost is 0.96!
Hartz Cat Toy – $2.00
Use $1.00/1 Hartz Pet Toy
Final cost is $0.96!

Have you guys seen these end caps? At my Walmart they had all of these miniature sized Quaker and Aunt Jemima products for $1.00!!
Quaker Quick Oats (5 servings) – $1.00
Use $1.00/1 Select Quaker Oats Products from 9/12 RP (exp 12/31)
Final cost is FREE!
Buy 2, Use $1.00/2 Quaker Chewy Granola Bars from 9/19 RP (exp 11/13!)
Final cost is $0.50 each

Quaker Chewy Granola Bars (3 pk) – $1.00
I found a 3 pk of Expo Washable markers that weren’t priced too bad, considering washable anything is always priced higher – why is that?
Expo Washable Dry Erase Markers (3 pk) – $4.64
Use $2.00/1 Expo Washable Marker Product
Final cost is $2.64

And I finally found the Hidden Valley Salad Kits in my store…I’ve been searching near the dressings, but they were further down the aisle than I expected. I forgot this coupon, so I haven’t had a chance to try them yet…wondering if they’re any good. ??
Hidden Valley Salad Kit – $2.50
Use $1.00/1 Hidden Valley Salad Kit @Walmart
Final cost is $1.50

Wow Christine! That is so sad and wasteful! I am not a big fan of Wal-Mart, but to stock up on trash bags so cheaply would make it worth a trip. You wonder though if those too get thrown out after being returned???

I am confused, if the Hartz coupon is $1 off 1 and the price of the cat toy is $2/dog toy $1.96, how is this item free at Walmart?
Katarina
Sorry, Wendy…you’re not going crazy! 🙂 I started this post WAY too late last night! The math has been corrected.

I was at WM yesterday (unfortunately only… i DESPISE the place) with my mom bc she had to return something. A person in front of us returned about 10 cans of similac ready to drink formula and the csr was placing a sticker on each can, so i asked her why. she said that it has to be thrown away because any food items returned (including pet food) is thrown away. UNBELIEVABLE! unopened tin cans of baby food are being thrown away for no reason. we asked if we could take them to a crisis pregnancy center and she said no. there’s no reason for walmart not to be donating these items to a food bank. geesh
