In a Mega Sale situation, you MUST purchase 10 participating items (in this case) to get the additional mega savings of $0.50 per item. So, for example you have a cart full of groceries, but you count only 9 items. A filler item is what you grab to get your item count up to a multiple of 10 so that you can get the mega discount on all of your items. Preferably something very inexpensive that doesn’t require a coupon, because if you had a coupon – it’s probably already in your cart!

I put mine in sets of 6 or whatever the deal is. That way I can count an double triple check I’ve got the right amount
What happens if you forget to get 10 items? I can’t go back now to get a refund, can I? It is sometimes so hard to keep track of what is part of the mega event. I do keep 10 items in the front of the cart and move them back once I have 10. I guess I confuse myself. This time it was the tomato soup. I was counting it, but shouldn’t have been.
This happens to me all the time, it makes me so crazy to miss the deal, I return whatever got thrown off by my miss count and go back and repurchase the items in the correct number… Might sound crazy but it’s worth it to me lol
if you forget or don’t get enough to make it in increments of 10’s…just take receipt to office, let them know what happened and how you are missing x amount of items and they will let you go get however many items you are needing to make up the difference and they have a scan bar in their book for such mishaps that corrects the mistake and takes the $5 off :)…and if you do that and have coupons on the other items you want to get to make up the difference …don’t forget to hand them over when you bring your new items up(or you can get the ones that are filler cheap items that don’t have any q’s available right now for them)…it has happened to me alot of times as well, especially if something that wasn’t tagged as a mega surprises me and throws my count off or i just can’t seem to count that day, lol..hope that helps…

does anyone know if Delmonte tomatoes are 49 cents in cinci area? I know several of the items are more expensive.
They are in Northern KY – Newport, Cold Springs area. Not sure about Cinci but I would get on Kroger site and check. It’s in their actual paper ad here – should be listed on website, too.
