View the Walmart Corporate Coupon Policy. I would suggest printing it and taking it with you to avoid any most cashier issues.
For the coupons with values higher than item prices, make sure you have purchased other items to cover the overage. Your cashier also has the right to adjust the coupon down to the actual item price.

I went to Walmart the other day and the cashier would not except the 1.00 off Gain coupon because it is only .97. She said they would lose money on the coupon and I tried to explain they would get the full dollar back but she would not let me use it. Should I have gotten a manager? There was a line so I just had her take the items off and she asked if I wanted my coupons back. LOL any advice would be helpful

Hi Amanda…I understand that you didn’t want to hold up the line, so you probably did the right thing by just taking your coupons back. I would’ve just went to the customer service desk and asked for a manager. The Walmart Corporate Coupon policy does not specify for this situation, but in my experience the manager will either adjust the coupon value down, adjust the price of the item up, or just take the coupon at face value as they WILL receive the full amount from the manufacturer. Hope that helps!
