:: How does ibotta work?
That is a question I get a lot, so I wanted to post another tutorial for those of you who haven’t yet started using ibotta. Additionally, they have updated a lot of the features, so you may need to familiarize yourself with these.
ibotta is a free smart phone app (that has recently been updated) that lets you earn real money for items you purchase at many store nationwide, including Kroger! As of right now, there is no policy against stacking paper coupons to really maximize your savings! 🙂
:: CHOOSE OFFERS
When you open Ibotta, click on Grocery (or Restaurant or Home Improvement) and choose your store. You’ll see Ibotta Offers in the Product Gallery. Each store will not only include offers that are available everywhere, but will sometimes have store exclusives.
Offers expire so don’t forget to redeem them before they’re gone!
:: GO SHOPPING
After choosing offers by completing tasks, offers will be added to your Pending list. Buy these items at any of the over 50 retailers where Ibotta works. Be sure to check your favorite stores to find exclusive offers that are only available at select stores.
:: VERIFY PURCHASES
Ibotta will verify your purchases and send you cash within 24 hours. Depending on the store, there are two ways to verify purchases:
If the store selected shows Redeem in the Product Gallery, take a picture of your receipt and follow the instructions.
If the store is an Ibotta Preferred Partner, it’s even easier – choose Link Account and register your loyalty card or phone number. At checkout, use your loyalty card or phone number, and they’ll handle the rest!
:: EARN CASH
The best part about Ibotta is that you earn real money, not points or other made-up currencies. What you see is what you get. To get your cash, just link your Ibotta account with PayPal, or create a new PayPal account within the App. 100% of your Ibotta earnings can be transferred to PayPal as soon as you’ve earned $5. You can also take advantage of other exciting Cash Out options, which include Gift Cards from iTunes, Redbox, Starbucks and more.
Can’t get a paper receipt from Kroger and can’t link Kroger account to Ibotta!!!!! It won’t except my digital receipt!!?? PLEASE CHANGE THIS!!!!!!!
Went to Ibotta’s site & still got the “we need a physical receipt” for pickup orders. My Kroger’s has no info on linking with Ibotta. Am disabled and need people get my pickup orders. Ready to drop Ibotta since I cannot get linked!
I contacted ibotta because Smith’s won’t give me paper receipts anymore. They gave me instructions on how to submit for offers until the app is updated. So glad I don’t have to lose my shopping fun over this. I don’t like that my discounts and coupons are unclear on the smith’s digital receipts.

Hello. I was wondering if you know if you can use Kroger cash back and Ibotta offers together or is Ibotta considered a digital coupon. I’m so confused and just trying to do it the right way. Thank you for your help in understanding this

Jessica, they paused that feature on ibotta awhile back because they were having too many issues. You have to scan your receipts for Kroger.
I can not connect my Kroger loyalty card to ibotta. I have done everything ibotta has sent me. checked my list of connected accounts. kroger is not there. than they said to go to “grocery pickup & delivery to look for kroger to connect and it is not there either.
Hi! I’m in California – we have Ralphs stores here, not Kroger… but it’s the same parent company. Do you know if I can link my Ralphs club on the kroger page… or if I still need to do receipt uploads (Does ibotta treat them as a family of stores or as separate stores)? TIA
Well Ibotta still doesn’t have Kroger cards linked with Kroger account still and I just found out that Kroger will no longer be sending paper receipts nor any documents with their Kroger Delivery Orders. Kroger Delivery charged $11.95 per order here in Houston, TX and not worth it anymore if there is no way to verify which coupons were applied to shipment because the area on their site and app that shows purchases doesn’t give you a breakdown of which coupons were applied nor does it show your fuel points and how much you actually saved on coupons.

Do you think I finally found the knowledge, and understanding using more than one coupon in a transaction
My kroger card was connected to ibottoa then one day got email saying there where having issues with Kroger and my card was disconnected now it will only let me upload receipts. So frustrating
Ibotta had my card linked for one week . Then I get an email stating they were having issues with Kroger and I had to go back to reciepts . Now I have no loyalty card option and they gave no eta on my issue .
Ibotta linked my Kroger member card for longtime, but i noticed that it’s disconnected without a notice and there is no button says “connect loyalty card” anymore on app. SUCKS
I tried this with Meijer and it did NOT work well at all. It would not recognize multiple items. I do not recommend it! I will stick to scanning my receipt for now.

I used to love Ibotta and used them forever, until they quit paying me and wouldn’t even allow me to access the money I had already earned. Begged them for months to give me access (since even they knew I’d never violated any rules etc) and they STILL wouldn’t give me my money. Read online and you’ll see it happens A LOT. You think it won’t happen to you, until it does! Total scam.
Why when you scan an item it’s stated right item but when upload says wrong item?
Ibotta didn’t link my card, then kicked me off for redeeming offers more than once. They were great but have become a joke.
If I buy 3 of the same item for a rebate will the app recognize them all by linking my Kroger card?
